Your Role
The role involves working nights working an average of 35 hours per week on a 2 week rolling pattern (5 nights one week and 2 nights the following week). Each shift is 10\-11 hours long.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children and young people.
- Support care plans, development goals, and emotional wellbeing.
- Promote safeguarding, routines, and behavioural boundaries.
- Engage young people in education, recreation, and daily life skills.
- Act as a key worker and lead shifts where appropriate.
- Maintain records and liaise with families and external professionals.
Essential:
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
- Resilience, adaptability, and calmness under pressure.
- Inclusive, rights\-based approach to care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (or willing to learn).
- Positive role model with integrity and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep\-ins.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Commitment to ongoing development.
- Experience working with children or vulnerable people.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, and safeguarding.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
