Veterinary Receptionist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary practice. This vital role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing appointments, and supporting the smooth operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate demeanour. Hours
20 hours per week consisting of 2 x 10 hour shifts per week, 8\.30am \- 6\.30pm
Every Wednesday
Every other Saturday and either the Thursday or Friday when you are not working that Saturday (You will be given your rota at least a month in advance)
2\.5 hours every 8th Sunday morning (Paid at time and a half)
1\-2 Bank Holidays per year for 2\.5 hours in the morning (Paid at time and a half plus a lieu day)
Overtime is often available to cover annual leave.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their animals warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling efficiently
- Answer phone calls, emails, and enquiries professionally and promptly
- Handle administrative tasks such as updating patient records and processing payments
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the reception area
- Provide information to clients regarding treatments, procedures, and clinic policies
- Coordinate communication between veterinary staff and clients to ensure seamless service delivery
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice is highly desirable but full training will be given.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Proficiency in basic administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the clinic setting
