We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Vehicle Purchaser / Used Car Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high\-quality used vehicles that meet our company standards and customer expectations. Your expertise in negotiation, logistics, and supply chain management will drive the procurement process, ensuring a seamless flow of vehicles from various sources. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our vehicle acquisition strategy, contributing to our reputation for offering reliable and desirable used cars.
Duties
- Identify and evaluate potential vehicle sources, including auctions, trade\-ins, and private sellers, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Negotiate purchase terms, prices, and conditions to secure the best value for the company while maintaining positive relationships with sellers.
- Manage the logistics of vehicle transportation, coordinating with shipping providers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 to track inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier information accurately.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and assessments to verify condition, mileage, and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure purchased vehicles meet market demand and customer preferences.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, negotiations, and vehicle histories for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Proven experience in vehicle purchasing or used car buying within a dealership or automotive environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for procurement and inventory management.
- Knowledge of logistics operations related to vehicle transportation and supply chain processes.
- Excellent understanding of merchandising principles relevant to used vehicles.
- Ability to analyze vehicle condition reports and conduct inspections effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with sellers, internal teams, and external partners effectively.
Pay: £30,000\.00\-£60,000\.00 per year
