Hours: 42\.5 hours per week between practice hours 8am – 6:30pm

Contract: Permanent

We are looking for a reliable, organised, and detail\-oriented Decontamination Assistant to join our friendly dental practice.

This is an important role within our practice, helping to ensure that our clinicians and patients benefit from a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment. Working behind the scenes, you will play a key part in maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control while supporting the smooth day\-to\-day running of the practice.

Whether you have previous decontamination experience or are looking to begin a career in dentistry, we would love to hear from you. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Decontamination Assistant, you will:

Clean, disinfect, sterilise, and package dental instruments in accordance with HTM 01\-05 guidance and practice protocols.

Operate and maintain decontamination equipment, including washer disinfectors and autoclaves.

Carry out routine testing and record keeping to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Monitor and replenish instrument stock, ensuring surgeries have the equipment they need.

Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant decontamination area.

Dispose of clinical waste safely and in line with current regulations.

Support the wider practice team in maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.

Report any equipment faults or compliance concerns promptly.

About You

Willing to learn and follow established procedures.

Previous experience in a decontamination, healthcare, dental, or sterile services environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
