Reporting to the Divisional Director of Operations, and professionally accountable to the Divisional Director, the General Manager is responsible for the operational and strategic management of a large, complex directorate across the Trust. The post holder leads service delivery and improvement at scale, managing multiple services/sites, and influencing regional and system\-wide developments.

The post holder will lead the service delivery and improvement within a single directorate, ensuring high\-quality care and efficient use of resources, ensuring their directorate provides high quality patient care and achieves its performance objectives. This will include accountability for the delivery of high quality patient care, clinical governance, patient safety, clinical quality, and delivery of people and financial metrics.

They will have shared responsibility with the other General Managers and members of the divisional management team for driving forward division wide programmes of work and service developments.

Working closely with the Divisional Director of Operations, the post holder will:

shape and implement the delivery of the strategic and corporate objectives for the Trust

align the directorate more closely with Imperial College, through the development of appropriate links with the Academic Health Science Centre office and with college counterparts.

Manage the delivery of all agreed outputs for the directorate, as set out in the business plan by:

Delivery of agreed performance indicators in relation to clinical outcomes, clinical efficiency, financial sustainability and productivity gains, and service line reporting.

Ensure the Directorate has clearly defined performance objectives supported by a management regime to deliver continuous improvement.

Develop and implement effective reporting arrangements to accurately record and monitor performance against targets and to pro\-actively manage any variances.

Provide regular reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Directors with assurance that appropriate follow up actions will be completed.

Hold Lead Clinicians, Lead Nurses and Service Managers to account for delivery of their objectives through regular performance review meeting
