Ultrasound Probe Repair Technician
*What the successful candidate would be doing?* Clean, inspect, assess, test, repair and re\-package diagnostic imaging ultrasound probes and other related equipment. You will be trained to complete your role to controlled quality standards: as you will be repairing a medical device, patient safety is of critical importance to us.
*What sort of the person are we looking?*
We will provide full training. Relevant electromechanical qualifications or experience is desirable but not essential. Instead we are interested in whether you have good hand and tool skills: Could you safely dismantle and reassemble complex items without damaging components?
And you should have a strong technical awareness so that you can safely inspect, test and repair complex electromechanical equipment.
We will ask you to demonstrate attention to detail: We have to repair ultrasound probes to strict quality standards as these items will be used to help diagnose patient health.
This is important not just for the repair work but the documentation and record keeping that goes alongside the technical aspects of the job. You will be expected to enter data into the company's workflow and the inventory systems. So you would be expected to familiar with Microsoft Office and IT database systems.
Customers choose to get their probes repaired with Modality because we can work to a deadline and the provide a quality service. Hospital scanning schedules may be on hold until a probe is returned from us. So our repair team need to balance their keen attention to detail with strong customer and patient focus. *A cover letter would be useful especially if you have never been a technician. Maybe you have only demonstrated these skills through a hobby until now, so tell us about yourself and why you would be good for the role.*
The starting salary is £25,000 (FTE) which will be reviewed after successful completion of a six month probationary period.
