Twilight night care assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Twilight Night Care Assistant to join our care team. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well\-being of residents during the night hours, providing a reassuring presence and support when most needed. As a Twilight Night Care Assistant, you will play a key part in delivering high\-quality care within a warm and welcoming environment, helping residents feel secure and cared for throughout the night. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a supportive team setting.

Duties

• Monitor residents’ safety and well\-being during the night shift, responding promptly to any emergencies or needs


• Conduct regular checks of residents’ rooms and communal areas to ensure safety standards are maintained


• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, or medication reminders as outlined in their care plans


• Document all observations, incidents, and care activities accurately using IT systems and care documentation tools


• Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care and update on any overnight concerns


• Support residents’ comfort by providing companionship and reassurance during the night hours


• Maintain cleanliness of communal areas and assist with light housekeeping duties as required

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care home, home care setting, or similar environment is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided


• Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents, colleagues, and emergency services


• Ability to use IT systems for recording care activities and updating resident records accurately


• Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs or emergency responses


• Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow specified procedures to meet individual resident needs


• Compassionate attitude with excellent observation skills to identify changes in residents’ conditions


• Reliable, flexible, and able to work overnight shifts consistently
