Transport Planner

About the Role

Sensa Waste is looking for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating vehicle movements, ensuring efficient scheduling of collections and deliveries, and maintaining excellent communication with customers and drivers.

This is a fast\-paced role that requires strong planning skills, attention to detail, and confidence in speaking with customers over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily transport operations to maximise efficiency and service levels.


• Coordinate routes and workloads for drivers and vehicles.


• Monitor transport activities and respond to operational changes as they arise.


• Contact customers by telephone to arrange, confirm, and update collection and delivery schedules.


• Handle customer enquiries professionally and provide timely updates.


• Liaise with drivers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.


• Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.


• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant transport regulations.


• Identify opportunities to improve route planning and operational efficiency.

• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, scheduling, or a similar role.


• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to make and receive customer calls.


• Strong organisational and time\-management abilities.


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.


• Good geographical knowledge and route\-planning skills.


• Competent in Microsoft Office and transport management systems.


• Problem\-solving mindset with a proactive approach to work.


• Experience within the waste management or recycling industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
