Job Overview
We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our logistics team for our small family run company. This position would suit someone with previous Transport Planning experience.
Duties
- To take full control of the Transport activities daily, as well securing new work when possible.
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and route planning.
- Monitor vehicle movements using IT systems and optimize routes for efficiency and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules, and transportation costs using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and customers to resolve issues promptly
- Oversee compliance with safety regulations, driving laws, and company policies and align with O licensing rules as priority.
- Proven experience in management within logistics or supply chain environments
- A Transport Manager CPC is desirable but not essential
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license. A HGV license is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain management, and transportation planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook; computer literacy is essential
- Exceptional communication skills in English; ability to clearly convey information across diverse teams
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem\-solving
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and accountability; experience managing teams is preferred
Pay: £40,000\.00\-£48,000\.00 per year
