As part of the AER Rents Group, you'll be joining a successful and expanding organisation alongside our sister companies, including Drogheda Hire \& Sales, Mainline Group, Mr Plant Hire, Chippindale Hire \& Sales, and Hudson Lifting.
The Opportunity

We are seeking an organised and customer\-focused Transport Planner to support the Transport Supervisor and Hire Desk Manager in coordinating transport operations and ensuring the efficient utilisation of our fleet and resources.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with planning, logistics, transport coordination, or customer service experience who wants to develop their career within a growing national business.
Key Responsibilities
------------------------
As a Transport Planner, you will:
- Manage customer hire and service enquiries via telephone and email, delivering a professional and responsive service.
- Coordinate daily delivery and collection schedules with drivers and depot teams.
- Plan and optimise internal and external transport activities to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor and update planning systems, ensuring all driver, vehicle, and delivery information remains accurate.
- Support the Transport Supervisor with fuel management, including monitoring fuel usage and fuel card administration.
- Produce and maintain transport reports, records, and operational documentation.
- Assist with compliance and vehicle maintenance administration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport and customer service operations.

Essential:
- Experience in a transport planning, logistics coordination, scheduling, customer service, or similar operational role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a customer\-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good IT skills and experience using planning or operational systems.
- Knowledge of UK geography and transport networks.
- Experience using planning systems such as Syrinx, BigChange, or similar fleet management software.
- Experience monitoring transport KPIs, reporting, and operational performance metrics.
- Knowledge of vehicle compliance or fleet administration.
