Transport Planner
*Key Responsibilities of a Transport Planner*
You will undertake multiple daily tasks including planning of our daily orders \& seeking continual improvements in all aspects of our transport department. This is a permanent position that provides the potential for the right person to establish a progressive career with the company. In this role, you will be supporting a variety of activities across the business, with daily liaison between sales, customer services, and warehouse departments. The role will involve providing ongoing support to our Warehouse team and directly reporting to the Transport Manager and Operations Director.
- Verifying and meeting established deadlines for product fulfillment, outgoing shipping, and transportation.
- Organising the runs on a daily basis and ensuring the delivery of goods is continuously achievable on a vehicle\-by\-vehicle basis.
- Ensure route optimization savings are achieved and scheduled so that they are profitable and contribute to the reduction of impact on the environment by being efficient.
- Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, and drivers are compliant with the E.Tupling standard, i.e. drivers disinfect vehicles and complete thorough vehicle checks daily.
- Analysing data to assess performance, discover logistical problems, and devise plans for improvements through our CameraMatics tracking system.
- Allocating jobs to warehouse team throughout the day, judging each order individual and working out what vehicle, run, and any other logistic implications which may arise per order.
- To help deliver a next\-day service to our network of customers across the country.
- Maintaining logistics operations while liaising with warehouse and customer service to ensure the highest standards of service.
- Ensuring that shipping methods are complying with rules, regulations, and laws \- Coordinating and resolving transport\-based claims and discrepancies \- Monitoring \& reporting quality returns that impact on the logistics function.
- Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- IT literacy is essential.
- Good written and verbal skills, with the ability to listen to and influence peer groups and all department team members to build and lead an effective working team.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and interpret the information effectively to continuously improve the department.
- Can do attitude, who is flexible with the ability to react quickly to the needs of the customer.
- Leadership and people management skills
- Must have good communication and organisational skills.
- A good geographic knowledge.
- Must be proactive, highly driven and can work under their own initiative.
- Work’s well under pressure.
Job Type: Full\-time
Pay: £31,000\.00\-£33,000\.00 per year
