Transport Manager
TRANSPORT MANAGER – TAMWORTH, STAFFORDSHIRE
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join our well-established and growing logistics client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire on a full-time permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Manager, Fleet Manager, Logistics Manager, Distribution Manager, Transport Operations Manager, Fleet Compliance Manager or Depot Manager looking to join a successful family-orientated business where teamwork, stability and long-term career development are at the heart of the operation.
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Transport Manager who can lead by example, ensure full compliance across the fleet and contribute to the continued success of a growing logistics operation. The successful candidate will be passionate about maintaining high standards, supporting drivers and improving operational efficiency.
Salary
- £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

As a Transport Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Managing vehicle maintenance schedules across the fleet
- Overseeing in-house vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance standards are maintained
- Managing and controlling vehicle repair and maintenance budgets
- Monitoring driver performance through tachograph analysis
- Ensuring driver and vehicle compliance with all relevant legislation
- Maintaining high health and safety standards across the operation
- Supporting site management activities as required
- Identifying and implementing improvements to transport operations and compliance processes
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience operating at Transport Manager level
- A valid CPC qualification
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing vehicle maintenance and fleet compliance
- Proven ability to maintain and improve health and safety standards
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience within a logistics, distribution or pallet network environment
- Exposure to transport planning and depot management functions
- Experience managing transport budgets and operational costs
- Ongoing support and development opportunities
