Transport Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and organised Transport Clerk to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation documentation, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring smooth communication across supply chain operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in logistics management within a dynamic environment, supporting efficient supply chain processes and maintaining high standards of data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery and receipt of goods.


• Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities through data entry and database management.


• Coordinate with third\-party logistics providers (3PL) to organise transportation schedules and resolve any issues that arise during transit.


• Assist with analysing logistics data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation.


• Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers via phone and email, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills.


• Prepare shipping documentation, labels, and compliance paperwork in accordance with company policies.


• Monitor supply chain activities to ensure adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and safety regulations.


• Support the shipping \& receiving department by entering data accurately into relevant systems and maintaining organised records.

• Proven experience with transportation management systems.


• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics operations, and shipping \& receiving procedures.


• Excellent analysis skills to interpret logistics data and generate actionable insights.


• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional phone etiquette.


• Proficiency in data entry with high attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.


• Organised approach to managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.


• Prior experience working with third party logistic providers or in a logistics environment is desirable but not essential. This role provides a vital link within our supply chain operations, supporting seamless transportation processes through organisation, communication, and technical expertise.
