We are looking for an organised, confident and proactive Transport Administrator to join our busy Transport team at Quickslide.

This is a fast\-paced and varied role supporting the day\-to\-day running of our nationwide delivery operation. You will work closely with the Transport Planner, drivers and other departments across the business to help ensure deliveries are planned and completed efficiently.

The role will involve assisting with daily route planning, dealing with emails and telephone calls, communicating with drivers, coordinating with other departments and supporting the team with transport compliance and administration.

No two days will be the same, so we are looking for someone who can think on their feet, prioritise their workload and remain organised when plans change.

Previous transport experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Planning \& Operations

  • Assist the Transport Planners with day\-to\-day route planning.

  • Help organise and coordinate nationwide deliveries.

  • Make amendments to delivery plans as required.

  • Assist with additional deliveries, collections, returns and changes to planned routes.

  • Communicate with drivers throughout the working day.

  • Assist drivers with queries and issues while they are out on the road.

  • Monitor deliveries and raise any potential delays or problems with the Transport team.

  • Help ensure drivers have the information they need to complete their routes.

  • Support the team when plans need to change at short notice.
Communication \& Coordination
  • Manage and respond to Transport emails.

  • Answer incoming Transport telephone calls.

  • Liaise with customers regarding delivery information where required.

  • Work closely with Production, Loading, Customer Care, Sales and other departments.

  • Coordinate information between departments to help ensure deliveries are ready and planned correctly.

  • Communicate changes, delays and issues quickly and accurately.

  • Escalate problems to the Transport Planner or Transport Manager where necessary.
Transport Compliance \& Administration
  • Assist with maintaining driver and vehicle records.

  • Support the team with transport compliance administration.

  • Assist with driver training records and ensuring required training is kept up to date.

  • Help monitor outstanding compliance documentation.

  • Assist with daily vehicle and driver paperwork.

  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records.

  • Update transport systems and spreadsheets.

  • Assist with general filing, scanning and data entry.

  • Support the Transport team with any audits or compliance checks.
Compliance training will be provided where required.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be highly organised and able to manage several tasks at once.

  • Be comfortable working in a very fast\-paced environment.

  • Have strong administration skills.

  • Have good attention to detail.

  • Be confident communicating with drivers, customers and colleagues.

  • Have a good telephone manner.

  • Be comfortable dealing with changing priorities and last\-minute problems.

  • Be able to remain calm and organised under pressure.

  • Be confident using computers, email and Microsoft Office.

  • Be proactive and willing to help solve problems.

  • Be a strong team player.

  • Be willing to learn about transport planning and compliance.
Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution or administration would be an advantage, but we are also interested in candidates with strong administrative and organisational skills who are willing to learn.
