Job Summary
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and organised Transport Administrator to oversee and coordinate transportation activities within our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation management systems, facilitating efficient shipping and receiving processes, and supporting supply chain functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, ensuring seamless logistics operations through effective data entry, analysis, and communication skills. This role has room to carry more responsibilities with a higher pay to reflect this.

Pay can be negotiated based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule and track shipments effectively.

  • Coordinate with drivers to ensure they are on time and deal with late deliveries efficiently.

  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.

  • Ensure accurate data entry related to logistics operations, maintaining organised records for audit purposes.

  • Deal with customers by taking details for jobs and selling to sub\-contractors.

  • Call engineers with updates on their deliveries.

  • Look for return loads on the Courier Exchange for drivers and subcontractors.

  • Enter POD's on time.
Skills
  • Good knowledge of how to use excel.

  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, including shipping \& receiving procedures.

  • Effective communication skills for liaising with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.

  • Competence in data entry with high attention to detail; typing skills are essential.

  • Good phone etiquette for professional interaction with external partners.

  • Organised approach to multitasking within a fast\-paced environment. This position offers a vital role within our logistics team, supporting efficient transportation operations through technical expertise and excellent organisational skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail\-focused, and capable of working collaboratively across departments to ensure seamless supply chain management.
Pay: From £33,000\.00 per year
