Trainee workshop engineer

We are looking for a Trainee Workshop Technician to join our experienced team in Sheffield.

The role involves inspecting, repairing and refurbishing industrial radiators, heat exchangers, oil coolers and other heat\-transfer equipment. It would suit someone with experience in workshop engineering, mechanical fitting, fabrication or another hands\-on mechanical position.

Previous experience with heat exchangers would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided to someone with suitable transferable skills.

Responsibilities:

• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery safely.


• Identifying damaged, worn or defective components.


• Completing soldering, brazing, fabrication, fitting or welding work where suitably trained.


• Assisting with retubing, component replacement and equipment reassembly.


• Conducting pressure and leak tests and recording results accurately.


• Reading and following job sheets, measurements and technical drawings.

• Previous experience in workshop engineering, mechanical fitting, fabrication, vehicle repair or another practical mechanical role.


• Confidence using hand and power tools.


• Good practical and mechanical problem\-solving skills.


• Strong attention to detail.


• Able to work independently and as part of a team.


• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.


• A good understanding of working safely in a workshop environment.


• Full, clean UK driving licence.


• Valid passport.


• Live in the South Yorkshire area.
