Trainee Maintenance Engineer

We currently have a position for a Trainee Maintenance Engineer to work within our food production factory.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, confident and flexible individual who has a Level 2 NVQ or above (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline. Ideally an even split between mechanical and electrical experience.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will provide maintenance support to the production team, ensuring disruption to production is kept to a minimum and that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to the operations shift teams on a double day basis.


• Reactive maintenance to breakdowns carried out promptly with the minimum of disruption to production.


• Planned Preventative maintenance completed to schedule.


• 3 phase Fault finding diagnosis and repairs on key production plant and equipment.


• Experience with working from electrical drawings.


• Experience with PLC's, inverters, DC voltages etc.


• Assist to ensure that the Engineering Department comply with all statutory and company health, safety and environmental system and policy.


• Develop and maintain good working relationships with other departments at all levels within the business.


• Work at all times in a safe manner.


• Report any Health and Safety issues relating to plant and equipment immediately to the Engineering Manager/H\&S Manager.


• Knowledge and compliance of Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.


• Promote lean thinking and continuous improvement to optimise operational efficiencies.


• Maintain an audit ready culture.

Full training will be given to enable employees to progress further.

Shifts are 6am \- 2pm and 2pm \- 10pm, on a rota basis.

Pay: £26,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
