Trainee Instrument Technician/Engineer
\*\*Junior Instrument Technician/Engineer Opportunity\*\*
\*\*Location:\*\* Southport \| 40 hours per week
We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented Junior Instrument Technician to join our production team at PCI Instruments, based in Southport.
\*\*Role Overview:\*\*
As a Junior Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly and calibration of process instrumentation. This role requires precision and attention to detail, as you will work with both mechanical and digital instruments, all manufactured according to specific production orders. Our production environment is dynamic, operating on a custom order basis rather than a standard production line. This creates a diverse and varied workday, where you will contribute to the production of numerous product variations. In addition, our facility features cutting\-edge equipment, including computer\-controlled machines for precision cutting and welding.
\*\*Key Skills and Experience:\*\*
While formal qualifications are not required, candidates with the following skills or experience will be highly regarded, though they are not essential:
\- Interest in instrumentation, measurement, or control systems
\- Previous experience in a technical or production setting
\- Basic understanding of materials
\- Experience in TIG welding; relevant certifications are advantageous
\- Basic machining skills (e.g., drilling, turning)
\- GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
\*\*Main Responsibilities:\*\*
\- Assemble diaphragm seals to pressure measuring instruments
\- Calibrate pressure instruments to precise specifications
\- Provide support to the production team and collaborate on tasks as needed
\- Occasionally assist with receiving goods
