Trainee Fire Alarm Engineer: Starting Salary: £26k per year (based on 40hours/week Mon\-Fri) plus on call allowance and time and half for attending.

Job Description:

Scott FPS Ltd is a well established family run business based in South Wales with 30 years experience in the fire industry. We are actively recruiting for a Trainee Fire Alarm Engineer.

All we ask for: Must live within the South Wales area and have a full UK driving license. Electrical expereince would be an advantage but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Transferable skills: The role would be suitable for candidates with experience in Telecoms, CCTV and electrical background.

Role and responsibility will include:

  • You will work alongside our Fire Alarm Engineers.

  • You will be trained on the relevant industry standards, codes of practice and manufacturers regulations.

  • To assist with servicing and maintaining fire alarms and emergency lights to British Standards 5839 and 5266\.

  • To assist with the installation and servicing with a high level of safety, ensuring that the work is serviced and installed to the required standards, specification, schedule and that all documentation is completed, whilst providing a friendly and efficient service to our customers.

  • Must be able to respond to work orders quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining health and safety standards.

  • Once Sufficiently trained, will be required to work as part of an on call rota system (inc weekends)
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.

  • An understanding of Health \& Safety at work.

  • Ability to hold an autonomous role and demonstrate excellent time management.

  • High levels of literacy, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer literate.

  • Exceptional customer service.

  • Must be reliable and punctual.

  • Have a positive work ethic, be self\-motivated to work independently and more importantly to work as part of a team.

  • Must be flexible as once trained will be required to work as part of an on\-call rota system (inc. weekends)

  • Able to ensure the submission of relevant work in a timely manner via our app.

  • Be smart in appearance.

  • Full clean UK driver’s licence.
Desirable:
  • 17th/18th Edition qualification preferred
