Trainee Extrusion Technician

Due to increased demand for our medical devices, we now have an exciting new opportunity available within our production team. We are looking for a driven and hardworking Trainee Extrusion Technician to join us on a permanent basis. Learning new skills with an established but growing team in a niche industry. Full training is provided.

Work details:

· Trainee Extrusion Technician.

· Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.

· Day shifts (Mon\-Thurs 8am\-5pm, Fri 8am\-2pm)

What you’ll be doing? \**Full training is provided!*

· Understanding the fundamentals of plastics and the discipline of extrusion through onsite training.

· Learning to read setting cards and specification documentation, as well as following protocols and procedures.

· Learning to strip and configure extrusion machines of varying sizes and their downstream equipment.

· Mixing materials.

· Starting up, troubleshooting and shutting down multiple extrusion lines.

· Operating extrusion equipment including collecting, bagging and measuring medical tubing and coiled tubing. (some heavy lifting involved up to 25kg).

· Operating quality control equipment to ensure our products are kept within tolerance.

· Keeping production records.

· Working within a highly regulated cleanroom environment (i.e no make\-up, jewellery), wearing full cleanroom garments.

What we’re looking for?

· Quick learners with a keen eye for detail.

· Good dexterity and hand\-eye coordination.

· Patience and persistence.

· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

· You must be physically fit with a good standard of hygiene.

· have a positive attitude and not afraid of hard work to help the team and the company achieve its customer demand and future goals.

· Ideally, you will have worked in a hands\-on, manufacturing environment or have transferable skills. But this is not essential.

Pay: £13\.00\-£14\.00 per hour
