We are now looking to recruit a new Trade Depot Manager to lead our Edinburgh Trade Depot in Loanhead.
The Role
This is a hands\-on management role combining customer service, stock control, depot operations, and leadership.
You will be responsible for the day\-to\-day running of the depot, ensuring customers receive excellent service while maintaining accurate stock control, strong operational standards, and efficient depot processes.
This role would suit somebody who enjoys taking ownership, is highly organised, thrives in a fast\-paced environment, and takes pride in running a well\-controlled operation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day\-to\-day operation of the Edinburgh Trade Depot.
- Deliver excellent face\-to\-face customer service and build strong customer relationships.
- Manage depot stock accurately, including stock takes, stock reconciliations, investigations, and inventory control.
- Ensure all stock movements, customer collections, returns, IBTs (Inter Branch Transfers), and depot transfers are accurately processed.
- Verify and physically check incoming deliveries and stock transfers before confirming receipt.
- Maintain effective controls around customer collections and depot stock movements.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies promptly.
- Manage depot free stock, remnant stock, customer returns, and stock transfers.
- Ensure all depot stock is correctly labelled, traceable, and stored safely.
- Liaise closely with Glasgow Warehouse, Sales Office, Credit Control, and Operations teams.
- Support sales growth through upselling and cross\-selling opportunities.
- Process customer payments and depot administration accurately.
- Maintain depot presentation, housekeeping, and health \& safety standards.
- Produce accurate reports and operational information as required.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve depot performance, customer service, and operational efficiency.

- Previous experience managing or supervising within a depot, warehouse, trade counter, distribution, or operational environment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience managing stock and inventory accurately.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good computer skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively within a fast\-paced environment.
- Positive, proactive, and reliable approach to work.
- Flooring industry experience.
- Forklift Counterbalance Licence.
