Therapy Assistant

Fromefield Manor School are recruiting for Therapy Assistant to join our Education team. We are a new SEN school (opened September 2024\) located in central Frome, Somerset and is special school for up to 30 pupils, aged 11\-19 who have a diagnosis of autism with associated complex needs.
Fromefield Manor is operating through a Total communication approach and so experience of working with pupils with ASD and some knowledge of the use of TEACCH and PECS systems would be desirable. Hours are 8\.30am \- 4pm, Monday \- Friday, term\-time only.

- Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation
- Planning and delivery of group and one\-to\-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activities
- Observing recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriate
- Creating appealing visual resources for sessions
- Managing a caseload of students
- planning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapies
- Assists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environment
- Creation of initial supporting documentation such as Individual Placement Plans and Provision Maps
- Ensures the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files and computerised information systems as directed while responding to routine enquiries and standard requests for information in accordance with policies and procedures
- IT Skills such as word and excel to contribute to surveys, the collection, analysis and presentation of data and information as directed
A psychology degree/qualification would be advantageous for this role but not essential.
