About Northwood Hospital

Northwood Hospital is one of Bristol's newest and most exciting private healthcare facilities. Opened in October 2025, our purpose\-built hospital has been designed to deliver exceptional patient care within a modern, premium clinical environment.

Conveniently located close to the M32 and Bristol Parkway Station, the hospital features two state\-of\-the\-art operating theatres, an eight\-bed inpatient ward, a six\-bed day case suite, and three outpatient consulting rooms.

We currently specialise in plastic and reconstructive surgery and are embarking on an exciting period of growth, with plans to expand our surgical services into general, orthopaedics, and ophthalmology, with ongoing plans for service expansion. This presents a unique opportunity for Theatre Practitioners to join us at an exciting stage in our development and play a key role in shaping our perioperative services as we grow.

We are seeking experienced and motivated Healthcare Professionals to join our growing perioperative team. Opportunities are available for practitioners with experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub, or Recovery, who are passionate about delivering safe, high\-quality care within a modern consultant\-led environment.

The Role

As a Theatre Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey while ensuring the highest standards of safety, care, and professionalism.

Working within your specialist area, you will:

  • Deliver safe, effective, and patient\-centred care throughout the perioperative pathway.

  • Support the delivery of consultant\-led surgical services across a range of specialities.

  • Ensure WHO safety checks and clinical governance standards are consistently maintained.

  • Participate in accurate patient documentation and effective clinical handovers.

  • Contribute to an exceptional patient experience by providing compassionate and reassuring care.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and fully prepared theatre environment.

  • Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient theatre operations.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
About You

We are looking for professionals who possess:

  • Registered Nurse (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification.

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration.

  • Proven experience within at least one of the following areas:

  • Anaesthetics

  • Scrub

  • Recovery

  • Strong understanding of perioperative standards, patient safety, and clinical best practice.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A compassionate, professional, and patient\-focused approach.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and participate in on\-call rotas as required.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working within an independent or private hospital environment.

  • Competence across multiple perioperative disciplines.

  • Experience across a variety of surgical specialities.

  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
