Technical Sales Executive / Business Development Manager

Competitive Salary \+ Uncapped Commission

The Opportunity

We are looking for a commercially driven, technically minded sales professional to join our team selling industry\-leading machinery and production solutions ranging from £1,000 to £100,000\+.

Representing some of the leading brands within our industry, you will be responsible for helping customers identify the right solutions for their business, managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to sale, and developing long\-term customer relationships.

This is not an order\-taking sales role.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, ambitious, organised, and capable of creating opportunities when inbound enquiries are quieter. The successful candidate will take ownership of their performance, continuously develop their knowledge and skills, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities Sales \& Business Development

  • Manage and convert inbound sales enquiries

  • Develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach and prospecting

  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline

  • Follow up quotations and opportunities consistently

  • Re\-engage dormant customers and historic enquiries

  • Identify upgrade, upsell, and repeat business opportunities

  • Achieve agreed sales and activity targets
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build strong long\-term customer relationships

  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions

  • Deliver machinery demonstrations where required

  • Provide professional, responsive support throughout the sales process

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every stage
Technical \& Product Knowledge
  • Develop strong knowledge of machinery, software, and applications

  • Understand customer workflows and production requirements

  • Stay informed on industry developments and competitor products

  • Confidently communicate technical features and commercial benefits

  • Develop the ability to advise customers credibly and professionally
Organisation \& Accountability
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management

  • Manage quotations, follow\-ups, and customer communication

  • Prioritise workload effectively

  • Work independently with minimal supervision

  • Maintain excellent attention to detail

  • Manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, account management, or a customer\-facing commercial role

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Full UK driving license
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Signage, print, graphics, engraving, CNC, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial equipment sectors

  • Capital equipment or technical solution sales

  • HubSpot or other CRM platforms

  • Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW

  • Design, print, signage, or production software

  • LinkedIn prospecting, lead generation, and business development activities
