Technical Product Manager (all genders)

Accountabilities

• Serve as the technical product expert for Shopify, evaluating implementation requests and determining the most appropriate solution using native functionality, third-party applications, or custom development.


• Oversee the operational understanding of the end-to-end e-commerce platform, ensuring seamless integration across systems such as ERP, customer service, subscriptions, analytics, and infrastructure.


• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support operational processes, improve tracking capabilities, and ensure reliable platform performance.


• Drive customer-centric product decisions by balancing technical feasibility, user experience, and business priorities when defining solutions.


• Monitor website performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and recommend improvements through platform capabilities, automation tools, and workflow enhancements.


• Contribute to product roadmap planning by assessing stakeholder requests, challenging low-impact initiatives, and focusing development efforts on high-value opportunities.

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of Shopify, including platform architecture, ecosystem capabilities, application integrations, and limitations, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams despite not being a developer.


• Experience working with complex e-commerce environments involving multiple integrated business systems and cross-functional stakeholders.


• Knowledge of web performance principles, including Lighthouse metrics, rendering performance, and optimization best practices.


• Practical experience using AI tools to improve day-to-day productivity, with familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as n8n considered an advantage.


• Understanding of data privacy, GDPR compliance, secure data handling, and related operational considerations.


• Excellent analytical thinking, ownership mindset, prioritization skills, and confidence to challenge assumptions while maintaining collaborative relationships.


• Fluent English communication skills; German is considered a plus.
