Job description

Team Leader Fire and Security Engineer

Location: Midlands and surrounding region

Join ASEL Argenbright Security Europe LTD and become part of a forward\-thinking organisation at the forefront of integrated security technology.

At ASEL, we design, develop, and deliver intelligent, tailored security solutions that combine cutting edge technology, expert people, and robust processes. We are recognised industry leaders in security risk modelling, using data driven insights to help our clients strengthen their operations, reduce risk, and achieve measurable cost efficiencies.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Team Leader to join our Fire and Security service team to support our continued growth across your designated region. This is a hands on technical role combined with regional leadership responsibility, working closely with the Regional Service Manager to drive team performance, technical standards, and customer satisfaction across the area.

The Role

As Team Leader Fire and Security Engineer, you will take ownership of your designated service area while also providing day to day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to a team of engineers. You will act as the first point of escalation for complex faults, support the Regional Service Manager with scheduling and workload allocation, and help drive consistent standards of workmanship across the team.

You will continue to carry out service and maintenance work yourself, ensuring you remain close to the technical detail and lead by example, while also taking on responsibility for team performance, development, and engagement.

You will participate in an out of hours on call rota and may be required to support other regions during periods of high demand or team absence.

What You Will Be Doing

Leadership and Team Support

  • Supporting the Regional Service Manager with day to day coordination of the engineering team

  • Allocating and prioritising workload across the team in conjunction with the Regional Service Manager

  • Acting as first point of technical escalation for complex faults across the region

  • Mentoring and coaching engineers, supporting their technical development and adherence to standards

  • Conducting informal performance check ins and feeding back to the Regional Service Manager on team capability and development needs

  • Supporting onboarding and induction of new engineers joining the team

  • Promoting a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement within the team
Technical and Service Delivery
  • Taking ownership of service and maintenance calls within your allocated area

  • Diagnosing and resolving faults across a range of integrated security systems

  • Working proactively to minimise repeat visits and deliver first time fixes

  • Supporting small project works where required

  • Communicating clearly with the Regional Service Manager regarding outstanding issues, escalations, and workload across the team

  • Representing ASEL professionally at all times, building strong and lasting client relationships

  • Supporting the wider Service Team with additional reasonable duties as required
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proven experience working with integrated security systems including CCTV, Intruder, Access Control, and Fire

  • Strong experience with IP based security systems, including enterprise platforms such as Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, and similar IP video management systems is preferred but not essential. Training can be provided.

  • A solid technical understanding of fault finding, servicing, and maintenance on intruder, Access, fire and CCTV systems

  • Prior experience informally leading, mentoring, or supervising other engineers, or a clear demonstrable readiness to step into a leadership role

  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with the Regional Service Manager, engineers, and clients alike

  • A customer focused mindset with a professional, approachable manner

  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development, both for yourself and your team
ASEL will provide ongoing training in company specific procedures, systems, leadership development, and emerging technologies to support your growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the effective operation and performance of your service area and supporting performance across the wider regional team

  • Working with the Regional Service Manager to monitor SLA compliance across the team

  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, both personally and across the team you support

  • Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct that reflects ASEL's brand, setting the standard for the team

  • Keeping your service vehicle clean, organised, and roadworthy at all times

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and development activity within the region as required
Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience, reflecting the additional leadership responsibility of this role

  • Overtime opportunities

  • Participation in a 1 in 6 on call rota

  • Ongoing training and development within a supportive and collaborative environment, including leadership development support
Additional Benefits Include:
