About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Accrington from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and raise attainment
- Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN
- Assist with behaviour management and create a positive learning environment
- Help prepare teaching resources and classroom materials
- Contribute to assessment, progress tracking, and record-keeping
- Support pupils socially and emotionally to help them achieve their full potential
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Has experience working within a secondary school setting
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is patient, adaptable, and committed to student success
- Has a proactive and positive approach to supporting learning
- Understands safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
