We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring and skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Marshfield Primary School. This role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the school, including leading intervention groups, delivering targeted support programmes, working with pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), and occasionally providing short\-term class cover to ensure continuity of learning. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping all learners feel included, supported and able to thrive.

At Marshfield Primary School, our teaching assistants are recognised as enabling adults – adults who nurture and care for our children while also supporting them to become confident, curious and independent learners. We are looking for someone who combines warmth and compassion with high expectations and who can confidently lead learning while responding flexibly to the needs of individual pupils.

This means:* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to ensure they feel safe, valued and ready to learn

  • Leading high\-quality intervention groups and targeted learning support programmes

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs through patient, inclusive and responsive practice

  • Delivering planned learning activities and adapting support to meet pupils’ individual needs

  • Encouraging children to think independently, problem\-solve and develop resilience and self\-confidence

  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, communication and regulation needs alongside their learning

  • Occasionally supervising whole classes during short\-term teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain engaged, supported and on task

  • Providing inclusive support that enables every child to participate fully and achieve success

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:* A nurturing, calm and caring approach to working with children
  • Significant experience of working with primary\-aged pupils, including pupils with additional learning needs

  • The ability to confidently lead learning activities and intervention

  • An understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support children with a range of needs

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff

  • Creativity, flexibility and initiative in responding to pupils’ needs and learning situations

  • Patience, professionalism, resilience and emotional warmth

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also leading learning independently when required

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to contribute to assessment and pupil progress discussions

  • Confidence in using ICT to support learning

  • A commitment to supporting all children to reach their full potential

  • A love of learning and child development

  • An excellent understanding of safeguarding principles and child\-centred practice
