About the Role

Keighley College is looking for a Teacher of Plumbing to join the team!

You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a curriculum that focuses on Plumbing within our Building Services department. The role combines academic leadership, industry relevance, and a focus on key knowledge, skills, and behaviours to equip learners with the necessary tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving sector.

This position plays a crucial role in aligning education with the growing demand of the construction industry within the community of West Yorkshire. The role requires a dynamic individual with deep knowledge of joinery practices who can inspire both students and faculty to achieve excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with the teaching team to maintain high\-quality delivery and adapt teaching practices to meet the diverse needs of students while ensuring they acquire the skills required for the plumbing trade.

  • Prepare students for the evolving expectations of the labour market in plumbing sectors.

  • Maintain up\-to\-date with the latest advancements and industry updates.

  • Be responsible for developing comprehensive assessment strategies that provide meaningful feedback to students, helping them progress in their learning and development.

  • Motivate and inspire students to not only meet academic goals but to think creatively about their role in a sustainable future.

  • Complete course\-level self\-assessments and contribute to ongoing quality improvement plans.

  • Play a key role in attracting new talent to the college and highlighting the diverse career opportunities available in this field.
About You
  • Strong background in teaching and plumbing trade.

  • Experience with eco\-friendly practices and innovation in these areas is highly desirable.

  • Teaching experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Student\-focused approach.

  • The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and thrive as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Self\-motivation \& independence.

  • A teaching qualification is not essential for this role, but candidates must be committed to working towards one. Continuous professional development in both teaching and industrial updating is encouraged to stay at the forefront of industry and education trends.
