Bel Sourire is a luxury vintage tea room and artisan cake business in the heart of Wetherby. We specialise in handcrafted cakes, premium afternoon tea and creating a beautiful, welcoming experience for every customer.
We are looking for a confident, organised and experienced Floor Manager to oversee the day\-to\-day running of the tea room and lead our front\-of\-house team.
The Role
The Floor Manager will take responsibility for the smooth daily operation of Bel Sourire, ensuring excellent customer service, high presentation standards and a well\-organised, positive working environment.
You will be a key link between the owner, kitchen and front\-of\-house team, taking ownership of the floor and making sure everything runs smoothly, even when the owner is not present.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Oversee the smooth running of the tea room during each shift.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Coordinate bookings, table allocations and customer flow.
- Work closely with the kitchen and cake team to ensure efficient service.
- Ensure daily operational, cleaning and food safety checks are completed.
- Monitor stock, wastage and general presentation.
- Deal with operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Lead, supervise and support the front\-of\-house team.
- Allocate daily duties and ensure staff understand their responsibilities.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, performance and presentation.
- Ensure all staff follow company policies, procedures and reasonable instructions.
- Train and support new team members.
- Address minor performance or conduct issues and report significant concerns to management.
- Promote a positive, respectful and team\-focused working environment.
- Lead by example at all times.
- Ensure every customer receives an exceptional and welcoming experience.
- Monitor service quality, speed and presentation.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
- Ensure customer bills and payments are processed correctly and customers do not leave without paying.
- Maintain the luxury and welcoming atmosphere of Bel Sourire.
- Ensure food hygiene, health and safety and company procedures are followed.
- Ensure uniform, hygiene and presentation standards are maintained.
- Complete and monitor required checks accurately.
- Report accidents, incidents, complaints or other concerns to the owner.
- Ensure the tea room and equipment are treated with care.
Essential:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality.
- Strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, responsible and proactive.
- Able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confident managing and motivating a team.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health \& safety.
- Experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, tea room or premium hospitality environment.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- Experience with EPOS/till and booking systems.
- Experience in afternoon tea or high\-end hospitality.

Pay: £14\.00\-£15\.50 per hour
