Accountabilities
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and related reports across multiple EMEA and APAC jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors on VAT filings and other compliance obligations.
- Reconcile VAT accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure ERP data is accurate and complete.
- Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting teams to review transactions and implement necessary corrections.
- Review invoices for compliance with local VAT legislation and ensure the correct tax treatment is applied.
- Manage compliance with e-invoicing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support VAT registrations and deregistrations as required.
- Assist with VAT audits and provide relevant information and documentation.
- Conduct ad hoc tax research and contribute to projects involving new countries, business expansions, and new operational models.
- Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency and accuracy of VAT reporting.
- Perform VAT number checks and maintain accurate VAT records for invoicing and reporting purposes.
- Partner with tax technology specialists to ensure the accuracy and reliability of source data used for VAT processes.
- Professional experience within a tax department, ideally in a Big Four or similar environment with a focus on tax compliance and reporting.
- Practical experience preparing and filing tax or VAT returns.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional tax or accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent is highly valued.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret tax requirements, and work accurately with financial data.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of VAT compliance and reporting principles, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, tax, accounting, and technology teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex, and internationally distributed environment.
- Proactive, highly accountable, and motivated by quality and continuous improvement.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Previous experience working remotely is not required but is considered a plus.
- Salary: €32,300–€36,300 EUR annual base salary for a full-time position, with compensation determined according to role, experience, skills, location, and market factors.
