We are now looking for a Supervisor for our Tank Farm area.
Overview
Acting as first line manager you will be responsible for the preparation and handling of bulk liquids, using company approved standard operating procedures.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will include:
- Responsibility for all process stages from bulk, cask and Ingredient intakes to bulk bases prior to filling.
- Control and management of bulk losses
- Manage and assist shift operatives working in the processing and compounding areas.
- Close working relationship with department supervisors and team operatives.
- Capacity planning – ensure that bulk stocks are adequate to meet the production plan requirements.
- Weekly/daily work scheduling in processing and compounding areas ensuring that manning is sufficient and skills adequate.
- Goods receipt and issue for small pack ingredients and bulk ingredients for all makes. (SAP user).
- Control stock and storage of small pack and bulk ingredients (SAP user).
- Bulk stock control – ensure correct stock rotation, correct storage conditions and reduction of losses are sought at all times. Reporting weekly and monthly on current stocks.
- Hygiene control – ensure that a high level of hygiene of all vessels, mains, hoses, equipment and processing areas is maintained; using both manual and automated cleaning methods with approved detergents and sterilants. Completion of appropriate cleaning documentation.
- Planning and organising maintenance on process equipment according to agreed schedule – to highlight when maintenance is required.
- Complete RTW, counselling and disciplinary for the staff under their supervision abiding by H.R. policies and procedures.
- Training of Tank Farm staff – to ensure all members of shift team are adequately trained to perform tasks and use equipment according to the SOP’S approved by the company.
- Experience in a FMCG manufacturing or operational or engineering role. Alcoholic drinks, whisky cask and processing related experience with knowledge of HMR\&C requirements.
- Proven experience managing people, either in a line management role or in a functional support role.
- Computer literate. Knowledge of SAP or DG systems an advantage.
- GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths, Science.
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, etc)
