Role Description: Talent \& Performance Manager \| £35,000–£45,000

Streatham, London \| Full\-time \| Office\-based

We don't need someone to run HR. We need someone to help us build exceptional teams.

We are a growing group spanning property, technology, charity, education and community projects, including Holmes Estates, Omar Foundation and Free.

We have ambitious plans and plenty of opportunities.

Our constraint is execution.

We need to strengthen our existing people, build better management and recruit exceptional talent so that we can do considerably more without simply adding more people.

That's where you come in.

Your challenge

You'll work directly with the founder and senior leadership and be given genuine responsibility to improve how our organisations perform.

Your first questions won't be:

"What HR policies are missing?"

They'll be:

Who are our best people, and how do we make them better?

Who has untapped potential?

Where is poor management holding people back?

Which processes are making people's jobs unnecessarily difficult?

What should we automate?

Where are we missing genuine capability?

And when we need someone new, how do we find someone exceptional?

You'll help us answer those questions — and then make the changes happen.

What you'll actually do

You'll assess our existing people, roles and ways of working.

You'll help introduce clearer ownership, objectives and accountability.

You'll identify where coaching, training or better management could transform someone's performance.

You'll challenge inefficient ways of working and help us use technology and AI intelligently.

And you'll build our ability to find outstanding people — proactively sourcing, headhunting, assessing and recruiting talent across very different organisations and roles.

Sometimes you'll recommend developing someone.

Sometimes changing a process.

Sometimes automating the work.

Sometimes recruiting.

And occasionally you'll need to tell us that we simply have the wrong person.

Who we're looking for

Your current title matters less to us than your capability.

You might come from talent, recruitment, people operations, organisational development, operations or a high\-growth business.

You don't need 15 years of HR experience.

But you do need to be unusually:

sharp — you understand problems quickly;

resourceful — you find a way forward;

organised — things don't disappear once they reach you;

commercial — you understand that people and performance affect the bottom line;

perceptive — you're an excellent judge of people;

comfortable with accountability — you can have difficult conversations;

technologically curious — you see AI and automation as opportunities;

and above all:

you take ownership.

We don't want someone who identifies a problem, sends an email about it and waits.

We want someone who says:

"I've looked into it. Here's what I think is wrong. Here are our options. This is what I recommend. If you're happy, I'll make it happen."

Why this role is different

You won't be joining a large HR department.

You'll be sitting close to the people making the decisions and helping shape organisations that are still being built.

You'll have exposure to businesses, property, technology and ambitious social\-impact projects.

You'll be trusted early.

You'll be able to see the results of what you build.

And if you're exceptional, we expect this role to become considerably bigger than the job we're recruiting for today.
