About us
------------
UCL is London’s Global University. Founded in 1826, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women to university education. Today, our community of more than 50,000 students and 16,000 staff is united by a shared purpose: to change the world for the better.
Our free and innovative spirit continues to shape everything we do. Across UCL, our people are tackling some of the biggest challenges facing society, creating new knowledge and finding solutions that can make a difference to the world.
Our communications and brand play an important role in ensuring that UCL’s public profile and reputation reflect the excellence, ambition and impact of our research, education and innovation.
Your team
You will be part of UCL’s Brand team, which sits within the Vice\-President External Engagement (VPEE) team.
VPEE is the wider team responsible for UCL’s communications, marketing and external engagement activity. It brings together expertise across Marketing, Media Relations, Public Affairs, Communications, Events, Strategic Communications, Student Recruitment and Digital, working collaboratively to strengthen UCL’s profile, reputation and influence.
Within VPEE, the Brand team is responsible for shaping, developing and protecting the UCL brand, helping colleagues across the university communicate consistently and creatively with their audiences. As a Graphic Designer, you will play an important role in this work, collaborating with colleagues across VPEE and the wider university to deliver high\-quality creative communications.
You will work with a wide range of colleagues across UCL, as well as external agencies, partners and suppliers, giving you the opportunity to work on varied and high\-profile projects and to see your work reach diverse audiences.
About the role
------------------
We are looking for a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join UCL’s Brand team and help bring the UCL brand to life.
Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, you will deliver creative design solutions that support UCL’s brand, profile and reputation. You will work across a diverse range of projects and audiences, translating our visual identity into engaging, accessible and effective communications.
You will contribute to the successful implementation and activation of UCL’s newly refreshed brand, working with colleagues across Faculties, Vice\-Provosts’ Offices and Professional Services, as well as external agencies, partners and suppliers.
From developing creative concepts and storyboards through to production and delivery, you will work across a wide range of channels, including campaigns, social media, motion, websites, print, events, experiential environments and digital signage. You will also help develop the tools, resources and guidance that enable UCL colleagues, partners and agencies to use the UCL brand confidently and consistently.
This is a role for a designer who can combine strong creative thinking with excellent attention to detail, stakeholder management and an understanding of how design can influence and improve the user experience. As a strong ambassador for the UCL brand, you will also contribute to brand guidance, training and communities of practice, helping to build consistent design capability across the UCL community.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a major global university brand, contributing to high\-profile creative projects and engaging with a wide range of audiences across UCL and beyond.
*Please note, this is a full\-time fixed term contract available until 31st July 2027, offered with hybrid working available (currently 2\-days onsite per week) at our London Kings Cross office (subject to change).*
