Shape the future of learning and talent development at Anabas
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Are you an experienced Learning and Development professional who can turn business priorities into meaningful development opportunities? Do you enjoy working with operational leaders, developing managers and creating learning solutions that make a measurable difference?

At Anabas, we are looking for a talented, proactive and commercially minded Talent Development Manager to lead our learning and development function and help build the skills, confidence and capability of our people.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced L\&D professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands\-on delivery. You will have the opportunity to shape our learning priorities, develop practical solutions and work closely with leaders across the business to ensure our people have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, challenge existing approaches and create engaging development opportunities that deliver real value for our people and our business.

About Anabas
----------------

Anabas is a facilities management business delivering workplace services to clients across the UK.

Our people are central to the service we provide. From our operational teams working at client locations to our managers, leaders and support functions, we recognise the importance of investing in the skills and capabilities that enable our colleagues to perform at their best.

We are committed to creating an environment where our people feel supported, valued and encouraged to develop their careers.

As our Talent Development Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring that learning is accessible, relevant and aligned with the needs of our people, our clients and our business.

The Role
------------

Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will take responsibility for the day\-to\-day management and delivery of our learning and talent development function, supported by an L\&D Coordinator who will report directly to you.

You will work in partnership with the HR team, operational managers, senior leaders and subject matter experts to identify development needs, design effective learning solutions and ensure that our investment in learning delivers tangible results.

This is a varied and hands\-on role that requires someone who is equally comfortable developing an annual learning plan, facilitating a management development workshop, analysing compliance training data or working with operational leaders to address a specific performance challenge.

You will have the opportunity to influence how learning and development is delivered across the business, strengthen management capability and support the development of our future talent.

Key Responsibilities
------------------------

Learning and Talent Development

  • Develop and deliver an annual talent development plan aligned with our business priorities, operational requirements and available budget.

  • Work closely with operational leaders and managers to identify learning needs and translate them into practical development solutions.

  • Design, source and deliver engaging learning programmes using a blend of face\-to\-face workshops, virtual learning, e\-learning, coaching and on\-the\-job development.

  • Maintain a structured learning calendar that balances mandatory training, technical skills, leadership development and career progression.

  • Contribute learning and talent expertise to wider people initiatives, organisational change and business improvement projects.
Leadership and Management Development
  • Design and deliver practical development programmes that strengthen the skills and capabilities of managers and leaders at different stages of their careers.

  • Support managers to have effective performance, development and career conversations with their teams.

  • Coordinate talent reviews and succession planning activity, helping to identify and develop colleagues with the potential to progress into future or business\-critical roles.

  • Work with operational leaders to identify management capability gaps and implement targeted development solutions.
Learning Systems and Compliance
  • Oversee the effective use and administration of our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring learning content, training records and reporting are accurate and up to date.

  • Monitor mandatory and compliance training completion, identify areas of non\-compliance and work with operational managers to ensure required training is completed.

  • Ensure learning materials reflect current legislation, company policies, client requirements and safe working practices.

  • Produce meaningful management information to support operational decision\-making and demonstrate learning compliance across the business.
Apprenticeships and Early Careers
  • Coordinate our apprenticeship and early careers programmes, ensuring they meet business needs and provide a positive learner experience.

  • Manage relationships with external training providers, monitoring learner progress, programme quality and successful completion.

  • Oversee the effective use of available apprenticeship funding and support managers and learners throughout their programmes.
Performance and Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development activity, using feedback, performance data and other relevant measures to assess its impact.

  • Identify opportunities to improve learning outcomes, increase engagement and ensure our development programmes deliver value for money.

  • Keep informed of emerging learning practices, technologies and developments within the facilities management sector, recommending improvements where they offer clear organisational value.
Team and Stakeholder Management
  • Provide effective leadership, coaching and support to the L\&D Coordinator, setting clear priorities and supporting their professional development.

  • Build strong working relationships with senior leaders, operational managers and colleagues across the business.

  • Manage agreed learning budgets and external training providers, ensuring resources are used effectively.

  • Promote an inclusive approach to development, ensuring colleagues across different roles, locations and working patterns have access to relevant learning opportunities.
About You
-------------

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and credible learning professional who understands how to make learning work in a busy, operationally focused business.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of your priorities, working independently and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

You will bring fresh ideas and professional expertise, but you will also understand the importance of delivering practical solutions that work for colleagues across different roles, locations and working patterns.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Substantial experience in a Learning and Development, Talent Development or Organisational Development role, with responsibility for managing learning programmes from identifying needs through to delivery and evaluation.

  • Experience of partnering with operational managers and senior stakeholders, understanding business challenges and translating them into effective development solutions.

  • Strong learning design and facilitation skills, including experience of delivering engaging face\-to\-face and virtual learning.

  • Experience of developing managers and leaders, with a sound understanding of talent development, succession planning and adult learning principles.

  • Experience of managing learning systems, monitoring mandatory training and using data to produce meaningful management information.

  • Experience of managing, coaching or developing another learning professional.

  • Strong planning, project management and commercial skills, including the ability to manage budgets, external providers and competing priorities.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders and gain their commitment to development initiatives.

  • The ability to evaluate learning effectiveness and demonstrate how development activity contributes to improved individual and organisational performance.

  • A relevant learning and development, HR, coaching or organisational development qualification, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.
It would be particularly advantageous if you also have:
  • Experience of working within facilities management, outsourced services or another organisation with a geographically dispersed workforce.

  • Experience of managing apprenticeships, early careers programmes or apprenticeship funding.

  • CIPD membership or a recognised learning, coaching or psychometric accreditation.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate how they have improved management capability, increased engagement with learning or delivered measurable improvements in performance through their development initiatives.

You will need to be adaptable, solutions\-focused and comfortable balancing longer\-term development priorities with the immediate needs of a busy operational business.
