System Support Engineer

We are looking for an experienced System Support Engineer to join a London-based organisation on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a hands-on role supporting the wider IT environment, acting as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues and providing 2nd and 3rd line support across the business.

You will be the face of IT for users and stakeholders, so strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues confidently and professionally are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line IT support across the organisation.


• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical incidents and problems.


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Microsoft environments, devices and applications.


• Provide support and administration across Microsoft Intune.


• Troubleshoot issues relating to Microsoft Defender and endpoint security.


• Investigate connectivity, endpoint, access and configuration issues.


• Support device management, deployment and configuration.


• Diagnose recurring technical issues and identify root causes.


• Work closely with internal IT teams and third-party suppliers where required.


• Provide a high level of customer service and act as a professional face of IT.


• Document technical issues, solutions and procedures.


• Produce and maintain technical documentation and support specifications where required.


• Assist with wider infrastructure and IT projects as required.

• Strong commercial experience within 2nd/3rd Line IT Support.


• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.


• Experience working with Microsoft Intune.


• Experience with Microsoft Defender / Endpoint security.


• Strong Windows desktop and endpoint troubleshooting skills.


• Good understanding of Microsoft 365 environments.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Comfortable working directly with senior users and business stakeholders.


• Able to work autonomously while also collaborating with wider IT teams.

• Experience within a corporate or enterprise environment.


• Knowledge of endpoint management and security technologies.


• Experience producing technical documentation, support guides or specifications.


• Exposure to networking, Active Directory / Entra ID and wider Microsoft infrastructure.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically capable and customer-focused. You should be comfortable taking ownership of issues, communicating with users at all levels and getting involved in the detail when troubleshooting complex problems.
