SYSPRO Engineer

Job Purpose:

The SYSPRO Engineer is responsible for the support, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s SYSPRO ERP platform and associated business systems. The role ensures the ERP environment remains stable, secure, efficient, and aligned with operational and business requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, third\-party partners, and end users to support day\-to\-day ERP operations while contributing to ongoing optimisation, integration, reporting, and future development of the platform.

Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day\-to\-day support and administration for the SYSPRO ERP environment across all business areas.

  • Act as a key technical and functional support resource for SYSPRO users, resolving incidents, troubleshooting issues, and managing service requests.

  • Support the ongoing stabilisation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of the ERP platform following implementation and handover.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational processes and identify opportunities to improve system usage, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.

  • Support ERP integrations with internal systems, third\-party applications, and business platforms.

  • Assist with configuration, testing, deployment, and change management activities within the ERP environment.

  • Develop and maintain ERP\-related documentation including system procedures, support guides, configuration records, and process maps.

  • Support data integrity, system governance, user access management, and security controls within the ERP platform.

  • Assist with report development, dashboards, SQL queries, and data extraction where required.

  • Work alongside infrastructure, network, and support teams to ensure platform availability, performance, and resilience.

  • Liaise with third\-party suppliers, consultants, and support providers to coordinate issue resolution and platform enhancements.

  • Support ERP\-related projects including upgrades, module deployments, process automation, and future business transformation initiatives.

  • Participate in user training and knowledge\-sharing activities to improve adoption and operational effectiveness.

Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience:

Technical Skills \& Experience

Essential:

  • Experience supporting SYSPRO ERP environments.

  • Good understanding of ERP processes across areas such as:

+ Manufacturing
+ Supply Chain
+ Inventory Management
+ Procurement
+ Finance
+ Sales Order Processing
  • Experience troubleshooting ERP system issues and supporting business users.

  • Understanding of SQL databases and reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non\-technical stakeholders.
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or go\-live activities.

  • Experience with ERP integrations and API connectivity.

  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI or SYSPRO reporting solutions.

  • Exposure to manufacturing or engineering business environments.

  • Experience with automation, scripting, or workflow tools.

  • Understanding of ITIL service management principles.

Health \& Safety Responsibilities

  • Set a good example of safe behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.

  • Work in a safe manner and observe site Health and Safety rules and procedures.

  • Do not misuse or interfere with anything provided to ensure the Health and Safety of themselves and others.

  • Correctly use the protective clothing and equipment provided.

  • Report any safety concerns promptly to their Supervisor and take action to prevent injury if it is safe to do so.

  • Report all injuries that occur at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.

  • Help in the investigation of accidents to prevent recurrence.
