Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Support Worker to join our team, committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. In this role, you will provide vital support, mentorship, and guidance to children and young people, helping them build confidence and resilience through nurturing relationships and practical assistance. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative journeys and support community well\-being.We are looking for someone who is able to work both Bradford and Preston, weekly shifts will be a mixture of both Bradford and Preston so it is crucial you have your own car., Mileage expenses will be made for any journeys made.

Duties

• Offer mentoring and emotional support to children and young people, fostering their personal development


• Assist with daily activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for clients


• Support children’s learning by helping with homework, teaching new skills, and encouraging educational growth


• Build trusting relationships through active listening, encouragement, and positive reinforcement


• Collaborate with colleagues and families to create tailored support plans that meet individual needs


• Promote social inclusion by encouraging participation in group activities and community events


• Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress notes, and activity reports in line with organizational policies


• Travel from Bradford to Preston or Preston to Bradford


• Being flexible with whatever shifts are given

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational or community settings is highly desirable


• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others


• Demonstrated ability to teach new skills effectively and patiently


• Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate approach to support others


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment


• A genuine passion for helping others overcome challenges and achieve their potential

Pay: £12\.71 per hour

Expected hours: 12\.0 – 40\.0 per week
