SEN ART TUTOR

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Art Tutor to inspire and support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through engaging art activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster creativity, enhance communication skills, and promote emotional development in young learners with diverse needs. As a vital member of our educational team, you will create a nurturing environment that encourages self\-expression and confidence while tailoring art lessons to individual abilities and goals.

Duties

• Develop and deliver dynamic art lessons tailored to the unique needs of children with SEN, including those requiring speech therapy, behavior management, or early childhood education support


• Incorporate therapeutic techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) to reinforce positive behaviors and skill development through art activities


• Collaborate with speech therapists, special educators, and caregivers to design integrated lesson plans that promote communication, motor skills, and emotional well\-being


• Manage behavior effectively, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all students


• Provide mentorship and encouragement to help children build confidence in their artistic abilities and self\-expression


• Maintain detailed records of student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed to meet individual developmental goals


• Proofread and review student work for quality and progress tracking

Experience

• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, especially those with special educational needs or early childhood education backgrounds


• Demonstrated expertise in teaching art or related creative subjects to diverse learners, including toddlers and preschool\-aged children


• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies


• Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and caregivers


• Familiarity with tutoring methods, physical education activities, and mentoring practices for young children


• Prior experience in preschool or toddler care environments is highly desirable


• Ability to adapt lessons for children with various learning styles and developmental challenges

Pay: Up to £40\.00 per hour
