Support Worker (Supported Housing)
Overview
Candor Housing provides supported exempt accommodation in Birmingham, helping vulnerable adults live as independently as possible in safe, well\-managed homes. We are looking for a reliable, compassionate Support Worker to be the dependable presence in our residents' lives \- building trusting relationships, helping with daily living and tenancy sustainment, keeping people safe, and helping them move forward. You will work across several of our properties, so reliable travel between sites is essential.
What you'll do
\- Provide person\-centred keywork and practical support to residents
\- Help residents manage their tenancy, benefits, appointments and daily living
\- Recognise and report safeguarding concerns, and keep accurate records
\- Support residents to access health, training and community services
\- Work as part of a team, with regular supervision and a named buddy
Essential
\- The right to work in the UK
\- A full UK driving licence and use of your own car for work, with willingness to hold business\-use insurance (the role covers dispersed properties and resident escorting; we reimburse mileage and will consider reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants)
\- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
\- A genuine, person\-centred, non\-judgemental approach, reliability and good communication
Desirable
\- Experience in supported housing, homelessness, mental health, substance misuse or social care
\- Knowledge of safeguarding; the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification (we will support you to complete it)
What we offer
\- 13\.45\+ per hour (depending on experience), plus paid mileage and a sleep\-in allowance where applicable
\- Full\-time, part\-time or bank hours; permanent contracted roles available
\- Full induction, paid training and the Care Certificate
\- Regular supervision, a named buddy, and a clear path to progress along the Care Workforce Pathway
