Support Worker
SUPPORT WORKER JOB VACANCY
We are currently seeking to recruit a friendly and trustworthy support worker to work alongside a family, therapy team and case manager to support a delightful 12\-year\-old boy with some physical care needs. The support will be based within the client’s home within the Cwmbran area and the wider community
The client uses a self\-propelled wheelchair and relies on some moving and handing equipment for transfers. He enjoys a range of community activities including sports and the successful candidate would need to support him to access these activities within the community.
You will need to have had some experience of working with children, preferably within the community and with physical needs, with a minimum of 3 years overall experience working in the care sector as a carer/support worker. Full training on the child’s specific needs will be given.
You will require a full and clean driving license and the right to work within the UK. The ideal candidate would have experience driving a WAV but this is not essential.
THE CLIENT IS UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSORSHIP.
Shift patterns include 3pm\-8:30pm (five and a half hours) on Thursdays and an additional five\-and\-a\-half\-hour shift which can be negotiated with the family on a monthly basis. This is likely to be Friday evenings or day time hours during the weekend.
We aim to offer a competitive hourly rate of £16:00 per hour.
