Fixed\-Term Support Worker – Supported Living
ReconnectNow Ltd is recruiting 3 experienced Support Workers to join our new 24\-hour supported living service at Lostock House in Bolton.
This is a new supported living home and we are preparing to welcome our first client. We are looking for reliable, confident and experienced staff who can help establish safe, consistent and high\-quality support from the beginning.
This role is suitable for applicants who already have good experience in mental health, supported living, complex needs, high\-risk support, crisis support, secure services, hospital discharge, or similar care settings.
Contract and hours
Contract: Fixed\-term for 3 months initially
Hours: Part\-time contracts available, approximately 30–35 hours per week
Pay: £13\.45 per hour – Real Living Wage
Location: Lostock House, Bolton
Shifts: 07:00–15:00 and 14:30–23:00, including weekends on a rota basis
The fixed\-term contract may be extended or made permanent depending on service need, funding, performance and suitability.
About the role
You will support adults with mental health needs in a 24\-hour supported living environment. The role involves helping clients build routine, confidence, safety, independence and stability in the community.
You will work as part of a small team and support clients in line with their support plans, risk assessments and agreed care arrangements.
Main duties include
- Providing practical and emotional support to adults with mental health needs
- Supporting daily routines, meals, appointments, wellbeing and community access
- Supporting clients to maintain safety, dignity, independence and choice
- Following support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Completing daily records, handovers and incident reports where required
- Reporting changes in presentation, risk or wellbeing to the manager
- Supporting medication processes only where trained and assessed as competent
- Working with families, professionals and multidisciplinary teams where required
- Helping to build a positive, safe and respectful supported living environment
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs, complex needs or high\-risk presentations
- Confidence working in a supported living, residential, hospital, community mental health or similar setting
- Good understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
- Good communication and record\-keeping skills
- Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and instructions
- Reliability and availability to work regular rota shifts, including weekends
- A compassionate, trauma\-informed and person\-centred approach
- Level 2 or Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification
- Care Certificate
- Recent training in safeguarding, mental health, medication, first aid, fire safety, infection control or positive behaviour support
- Experience of working with adults with severe and enduring mental health needs
All successful applicants will be required to complete safer recruitment checks, including right to work checks, references and an enhanced DBS check where required.
New staff will complete induction, mandatory training, shadowing and client\-specific support plan and risk briefing before working independently.
