Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Our service users are at the heart of everything we do, and we are currently seeking an innovative, experienced, and empathetic Support Worker to provide dedicated support to a service user based in the Dudley area with learning disabilities.
The ideal candidate will understand the needs of adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and other needs. They would be someone who can offer a high standard of support, is flexible and committed, enthusiastic and able to work well under pressure, as well as conducting de\-escalation of challenging behaviour where necessary.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the service user with daily living, promoting independence, and assisting them to access the community safely and confidently. This role involves accompanying the service user to appointments, events, and activities, including travelling long distances when required.
Shift Patterns
- 10:00am – 10:00pm
- 4:00pm – 10:00pm
- 4:00pm – 10:30pm
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within health and social care/support work
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident driving a manual vehicle
- Willingness and ability to travel long distances as part of the role
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care
Due to the specific assessed needs of the service user, we are seeking a male Support Worker for this position. This requirement is considered a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010\. Please also note that facial hair may act as a trigger for the service user. For this reason, the ideal candidate will be clean\-shaven.
