Support Worker

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Reading providing essential assistance and guidance to individuals in our community. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised support and mentoring. The ideal candidate will possess a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with children and vulnerable individuals. Previous experience in mentoring, teaching, or working with children is highly desirable. You'll be supporting people with:

• Learning disabilities and physical disabilities


• Mental health conditions


• Autism spectrum disorders

Your role will involve:

• Providing compassionate personal care with dignity and respect


• Supporting with daily living skills, household tasks, and medication management


• Facilitating social engagement and community integration


• Helping service users develop coping mechanisms and build resilience


• Encouraging independence and self\-determination


• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams


• Maintaining accurate records and care documentation


• Following organizational policies to ensure safeguarding and empowerment

What We are Looking For

Essential:

• Willingness to learn and undertake comprehensive training


• Right to work in the UK


• Full UK driving licence


• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check

Desirable:

• Experience in healthcare, social care, or support work


• Understanding of person\-centred and trauma\-informed care approaches


• Knowledge of mental health, learning disabilities, or autism


• Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in Health \& Social Care, Care Certificate, etc.)


• Drivers Licence is a must
