Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities and hospice care. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well\-being while promoting independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Assist with dementia care by providing structured activities that stimulate cognitive function.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Document client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Experience in patient care, particularly in hospice or assisted living settings.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while ensuring client comfort.
- Empathy and patience when dealing with individuals facing physical or mental challenges.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is advantageous.
- Competence in behaviour management techniques to support clients effectively.
Job Types: Full\-time, Part\-time
Pay: £12\.70\-£13\.00 per hour
