Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance and guidance to individuals in our community. Duties

• Offer personalised mentoring to children and young people, encouraging their personal development and self\-esteem


• Assist with daily activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those supported


• Support educational activities, helping children with homework and learning tasks


• Organise engaging activities that promote social skills, teamwork, and confidence


• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver holistic support programmes


• Maintain accurate records of progress and activities, adhering to organisational policies


• Foster an inclusive environment that respects individual needs and promotes positive behaviour


• Contribute to safeguarding procedures by recognising signs of distress or abuse and reporting concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable


• Skills in mentoring, teaching, or supporting individuals with diverse needs are advantageous


• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships


• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support others’ development


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


• Relevant qualifications or training in childcare, education, or social care are beneficial but not essential


• A commitment to safeguarding principles and maintaining confidentiality
