Support Medical Secretary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
The successful candidate will be required to support in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service. This will involve inpatient and outpatient waiting list management for a speciality, Medical secretary to Cardiothoracic consultants, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointments and admission related information to patients and carers and typing correspondence within performance targets as appropriate.
The post holder will be based at a UHNM site. The post holder will have a Consultant(s) allocated to them. They will also provide support for the MDT Co\-ordinator.
The post holder is required to support the Team Leader Medical Secretary in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team. This will involve management for, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and/or typing correspondence as appropriate.
This role is a medical secretary role and includes all office duties, typing letters, clinic alterations, answering telephone calls, using software packages such as Microsoft, Careflow, IPortal, along with other office based duties. This is not an exhaustive list of roles and responsibilities.
We are looking to appoint a Medical Secretary/MDT Co\-ordinator to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology Secretarial team. You will have experience of administration duties and dealing with members of the public.

Excellent communication skills

Able to use their own initiative
Organisational Skills
Experience of UHNM hospital systems e.g. Careflow, e\-referrals, iportal
Experience of Microsoft Office packages
Clinical typing experience
Understanding of clinics and appointments
