Description

The Procurement \& Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and products are purchased on time, at the best possible price, and delivered as expected.

This person continuously monitors open orders, stock levels, and dispatch blockers — resolving issues before they impact customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Management — Create, review, and maintain all purchase orders; ensure accuracy of quantities, pricing, and delivery dates.

  • Supplier Communication — Liaise daily with suppliers to confirm lead times, negotiate pricing, and resolve delays.

  • Stock Monitoring — Track inventory levels, identify shortages, and trigger replenishment before stockouts occur.

  • Dispatch Readiness Checks — Investigate why orders cannot be dispatched (missing stock, incorrect items, late deliveries) and take corrective action.

  • Delivery Tracking — Chase overdue deliveries, update expected arrival dates, and escalate issues when needed.

  • Supplier Negotiation — Secure competitive pricing, volume discounts, and favourable terms.

  • Cross‑Functional Coordination — Work closely with production, warehouse, and finance to ensure smooth flow of goods and accurate stock records.

  • Continuous Improvement — Identify inefficiencies in purchasing, supplier performance, and stock flow; propose and implement improvements.
Required Skills \& Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' procurement or purchasing experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or technical environment.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to analyse stock data and spot issues early.

  • Experience with purchasing/ERP systems (e.g Sage).

  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable chasing suppliers daily.

  • Problem‑solver who enjoys figuring out why something is missing and how to fix it quickly.
