Based in Hatton Garden, Alighieri creates timeless jewellery, hand\-carved and cast in recycled gold, silver and bronze.
We are seeking an experienced Studio \& Operations Director to lead the day\-to\-day operations of the Alighieri studio, ensuring operational excellence across production, logistics, client services, studio management, team leadership, and strategic business operations.
This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of the business, working closely with the Founder \& Creative Director to oversee the successful running of the studio while supporting the brand's continued growth. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, commercially minded, solutions\-focused, and passionate about craftsmanship.
The Role
As Studio \& Operations Director, you will oversee all operational functions of the business, ensuring seamless execution across production, fulfilment, inventory management, client services, bespoke projects, supplier relationships, and internal workflows.
You will act as a key partner to the Founder \& Creative Director, translating creative vision into operational excellence while leading and developing the studio team. This role requires a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and managing the finer details of a fast\-moving luxury business.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudio Leadership \& Business Operations
- Lead the day\-to\-day running of the Alighieri studio, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all departments
- Develop, implement, and refine operational systems, processes, and workflows to support growth and scalability
- Act as a strategic partner to the Founder \& Creative Director, helping prioritise initiatives and manage business operations
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organisation
- Oversee studio budgets, operational costs, supplier relationships, and resource planning
- Ensure the studio environment reflects the brand's standards of excellence, creativity, and professionalism
- Oversee production planning and delivery across core collections, bespoke commissions, repairs, and special projects
- Manage relationships with manufacturers, craftspeople, suppliers, and external partners
- Monitor production timelines and capacity planning to ensure all deadlines are met
- Identify efficiencies and opportunities for process optimisation throughout the production lifecycle
- Maintain oversight of sourcing, materials procurement, and inventory forecasting
- Team manager for studio coordinator, overseeing leadership across shipping, fulfilment, and distribution operations across e\-commerce, wholesale, press, and bespoke orders
- Team manager for studio coordinator, ensuring exceptional client service standards across repairs, exchanges, bespoke projects, and customer communications
- Develop systems to improve operational efficiency while maintaining a luxury customer experience
- Lead, mentor, and manage the studio coordinator
- Set priorities, manage workloads, and ensure clear communication across departments
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and team development
- Maintain oversight of inventory management across finished jewellery, components, packaging, and raw materials
- Implement robust stock control procedures and reporting systems
- Conduct regular audits and ensure inventory accuracy across all channels
- Collaborate with finance and production teams to improve forecasting and stock planning
- Work closely with the Finance Director to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting
- Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular performance updates to leadership
- Ensure accurate documentation, record\-keeping, and maintenance of operational systems
- Identify risks, resolve operational challenges, and proactively implement solutions
- 5\+ years' experience in operations, studio management, production management, or business operations within luxury, fashion, jewellery, lifestyle, or creative industries
- Proven experience managing teams and leading operational functions
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of scaling creative businesses
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Experience overseeing production schedules, supply chains, fulfilment, and logistics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly proactive, solutions\-oriented, and resourceful
- Comfortable operating in a founder\-led entrepreneurial environment
- Experience working within a jewellery, luxury accessories, or artisan production environment
- Familiarity with inventory management platforms, Shopify, and operational reporting systems
- Understanding of wholesale, direct\-to\-consumer, and bespoke business models
- Passion for craftsmanship, storytelling, design, and contemporary luxury
