We don't hide discussions about compensation until an annual appraisal, and we don't use standard corporate labor multipliers that keep the vast majority of the fee at the top. We offer a radical, transparent compensation model: You take a guaranteed 50% of the project fee.

If you are currently working in the industry, you already know the math. You know exactly what your consultancy charges a client for a standard residential structural inspection, a party wall award, or a complex commercial survey.

Now, look at the hours it takes you to do the site visit and write the report, and compare your hourly salary rate to what the firm just billed.

• The 50/50 Split: For every project you complete, you receive 50% of the project fee (after direct expenses). You take home half.


• Rewarded for Efficiency: Under a traditional salary, if you refine your workflow and become faster at writing reports, your reward is simply more work for the exact same pay. At Istidam, if you streamline your process and complete a high\-fee job in half the time, you still take home your full 50% share—meaning your effective hourly earning rate skyrockets.


• Uncapped Earning Potential: You decide how much you want to earn. Take on a heavy caseload to aggressively build your personal wealth, or scale back to enjoy more time with your family. Your income scales linearly with your output, and you never have to ask permission for a raise.


• *(Note: While 100% of our current engineers have chosen this highly lucrative fee\-split model, we are still happy to negotiate a traditional fixed\-salary contract if you prefer the old structure).*

As an Engineer with Istidam Consulting, you will take full ownership of your project caseload. Because our dedicated administrative team handles all client onboarding, initial inquiries, quoting, scheduling, and invoicing, your time will be spent strictly on what generates revenue: technical engineering in the field and at your desk.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Traveling to conduct structural inspections and site surveys for residential and commercial properties.


• Diagnosing structural defects (e.g., subsidence, cracking, material degradation) and recommending appropriate remedial solutions.


• Producing high\-quality, accurate structural calculations and technical reports.


• Managing your own time and project delivery schedules from your remote home office.

We are looking for ambitious, highly competent professionals who are tired of the traditional corporate grind and want to take absolute control of their careers and their compensation.

• Experience: You must have a strong, demonstrable background in UK civil or structural engineering, with the practical competence to manage projects autonomously from start to finish.


• Mobility (Required): A valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle are essential to travel to required site inspections.


• Qualifications: A relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.


• Chartership: You do not need to be Chartered (CEng / MIStructE / MICE) to apply. If you have the practical experience to safely, independently, and accurately deliver the work, we want to hear from you. (Chartered engineers are, of course, also highly welcome).


• Mindset: You are self\-motivated, value efficiency, and want a direct, mathematical correlation between your hard work and your bank account.

• Fully Remote Office: Your desk is wherever you want it to be. Work from home permanently, stepping out only for your scheduled site visits.


• Total Autonomy: No micromanagement, no utilization targets, and no mandated office hours.
